Copywriting and editing

I'm a long copy specialist and content strategist with over a decade of freelancing experience. I've helped create content for websites, (e)CRM, corporate reports, white papers, glossy brochures, social media, positioning presentations, restaurant menus, superhero stickers...the common factor is always a need for well-chosen words. Sometimes several hundred.

You can drop me in at the deep end; I'm a quick learner. I've gone from a standing start to dinner party expert on all kinds of subjects. Like sustainability reporting, comic books, pharmaceuticals, retail banking, sugars & syrups, mobile telecoms, sushi, corporate finance, consumer electronics, small business loans, metal ore processing, public health and fine art.

I've written for global blue-chip businesses, helped sole trader start-ups, and put words into the mouth of Thor, God of Thunder (or at least his mortal alter ego, Chris Hemsworth).

the international longevity centre UK

The ILC is the UK’s specialist think tank on the impact of longevity on society, and what happens next. I work with the ILC directly, to review many of its public reports, written by various experts in the field of aging.

My task is to make sure that each report has a consistent tone of voice and that the content is well integrated in documents with multiple authors and contributors.


Copy for Skype microsites that promoted their partnership with Marvel Studios, focusing on engaging content presented in a different tone. The challenge was to strike a balance between Skype’s tone and one appropriate for a new, younger audience.


Haven Holidays

Working with Iris to help apply Haven’s new identity, including a frank, friendly and refreshing tone, across the webpages and brochures for all their holiday sites.

That covers nearly forty brochures… plus campaign eCRM and other ongoing updates.


TIN ROBOT

Tin Robot is an “unconventionally normal” virtual team, which gives clients a Big Agency experience - access to skilled, experienced marketing professionals from a wide range of disciplines - without Big Agency fees. So far I’ve worked on a range of clients that include Soldo (a fintech B2B business) and Jungle Cup (a sustainable start-up), with more to come…


Copy for the rebranded YO! website, plus web and email for YO’s Manhattan relaunch. I helped finalise brand positioning for the YO! careers brand and website too.


Adobe

Working with Gyro, I helped to develop a couple of white papers for Adobe to support the launch of their new B2B offering, combining their Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Sign products. The papers explored the future of working well and working securely and how to support collaboration within hybrid and remote teams.


Bitstamp Crypto Exchange

I work directly with Bitstamp, the world’s longest-running crypto currency exchange, on both individual projects and day-to-day writing. This includes writing for ads, apps and publications.


Vonage

Working directly with Vonage to provide ongoing writing and content strategy support.

Our relationship began when I worked with NewVoiceMedia, one of the communications companies that were merged when the Vonage group was formed.


Evaluate

Evaluate deal in the analysis and collation of pharmaceutical data. I worked with Stack on a rebranding project to apply a new, more customer-centric tone and restructure (and rewrite) content accordingly.
